My project is still a work-in-process but here are two pictures of a test fit I did today.

I had a local machine shop make the flat brackets out of 1/8" steel using Shoganai's Autocad file ($18 each). I was planning to bend them like Shoganai's but decided that for my small Trail-Tech HID's, keeping the bracket vertical and mounting the lights sideways as shown works just fine.

I cut a channel for the wire in the inside of the rubber spacer so once I mount them for good, I'll route the wires through that.

I'll be interested in hearing how you like those TrailTech HIDs. Those should be pretty nice.

I'd be tempted to mount them to your brackets with stainless locknuts.
