|
|
UPDATE: Here's what Johnny and I agreed upon for Saturday:
| Quote: | here is the route... <-- Click here
meet spot is the stagecoach inn which is at "a" on the map... the meet time is kick stands up at 8am... have at least 60 miles of gas in the tank... |
Hey, all you SoCal riders! Anybody up for a day ride on the Saturday or Sunday after Thanksgiving? Or maybe the next weekend?
I'll be in Rancho Mirage.
Larry?
MarkMac?
Allen? (We'll forgive you for dumping your K11/12 for a Triumph.)
jinbenge?
Anybody? (Even lurkers.)
The plan would be to see who's in then pick a neutral meeting spot and nearby ride.
If you're interested post here with the day(s) you might be able to do it and your approximate location. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

I may be IN for this ... I lurk here on my '85K100RS ... Out of town for T-Day, but Back on Friday night. Sat/Sun works ... the following (5th/6th) works even better.
I am up in Venice, but can easily travel south. Never been down to S2 ... Its a bit of distance ... but I am game. Could start way down at the bottom and work our way North. |

OK. That's one. Maybe I can get the normal version of JO to show up too. His brain is a GPS of SoCal. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Update: I'm only around for T-Day weekend and the next few days. My brother is having surgery (glop of skin cancer, not a big deal) the following Thusday so it looks like I'll be flying home on Wednesday to be his chauffeur/nanny. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

| I am still looking good for next weekend .... probably only Saturday or Sunday .. not both as we have 8 month old twins and there is no way I can get a 2 day hall pass. |

Is that the same George Kennedy that stared with Eastwood in the Eiger Sanction? Great movie but a far cry from Red Snow. _________________ Scott Hespelt, '94 K11LT

Two 8 month twins shouldn't weigh much. Bring 'em along!
Seriously though. What say you, GK?
I'm thinking Saturday for a day ride.
You're the same GK over on ADV I assume? (I'm "duck" over there but you probably figured that out.) _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Same G.Kennedy as ADVRider ... yep .... I could easily fit the nippers ... one in each pannier ... obviously have to keep trading sides to cut down on over heating them.
There is now a chance that I will not be pulling back into Venice until Saturday. We may go hike a bit in Yoesmite on Friday ... and I have a feeling if we do that .... it will get too late to head home Friday night.
Sunday would be a sure thing for me. But if Saturday is your only day ... I am sure I can make it work.
No George here ... but I would vote Airplane to be the top of his list. |

Dang. Looks like I picked the wrong day. I got rained on all of the way up 74 and then I hit a snowstorm at 4,000 feet so I had to turn around.
Worse yet, on my way back down I saw a rider who'had gone off of the road and was about to be loaded on a life flight chopper. I hope things work out for him. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

We were right on the other side of the hill from you ... it was kinda ugly weather. My Darien gear was working well to keep me dry .... but it was going to be a long wet cold day
Best to call it off and be able to ride another day ....
Next time. |
