In 2009, I travelled 43,000 + miles photographing various locations around North America. Here's a couple of my favorite photos for 2009. Please share yours.
Northern Yukon near the Arctic Circle on the Dempster Highway
Near Ohio Pass in Colorado
Crystal Lake South of Ouray in Colorado along the Million Dollar Highway _________________ Ken Krumm

I'm the author of that article (OCT 2008) Lessons Learned on Yukon's Dempster highway in BMW Owners News. That was based on my ride to the Yukon in May/June 2007. This picture is from my return trip to the Dempster this past June.
I'm retired, so I have plenty of time to ride. _________________ Ken Krumm

Hey Manhattan,
Beautiful pictures! Sorry things got off on the wrong foot with the oil thing but I understand how that happens. Welcome to the forum. _________________ Jim

No offense taken. Posting an oil study for the first thread is a dumb idea. If I wasn't the poster, I would think spam. _________________ Ken Krumm

Well, you did say "memorable", not most beautiful. My scenery pictures are a bit lacking this year, but here are a few I won't soon forget.
A sympathetic "K"ongregation around my disabled RS.
My bike being loaded in the U-haul after the drive shaft failure. Kind or reminds me of the flag raisng on Iwo Jima.
Audi cooking up an awsome dinner at HMII!
A sign on the Blue Ridge Pkwy that made me laugh. Free style baby!
A few of my tag-o-rama shots.
Amen, brother.
One for Jim!
One for Duck, stickers!

Back in 2001, Neil Peart, wrote the book Ghost Riders, Travels on the Healing Road. His most northern stop was Inuvik; Canada's most northern town accessible by road. Inuvik is approximately 200 miles north of the Arctic Circle at the end of the Dempster Highway near the Beaufort Sea. It's been a dream of mine to camp ride and camp above the Arctic Circle in the Yukon and Northwest Territories. In June, I was able to complete this ride and personal goal.
The Arctic Circle in the Yukon
Entering the Northwest Territories in the Richardson mountains (approximately 50 miles north of the Arctic Circle)
Entering Inuvik with my riding buddy Bruce. The end of Dempster marks the end of 456 miles of dirt and gravel road one way.
Camping in Inuvik with my riding buddy, Bruce Grahn from Wisconsin with 24 hours of sunlight. The photo was taken around midnight. Since the ground is frozen 1500 feet, platforms are used.

let me rephrase that -- clearly i need to get a job that pays well (like a doctor's) and then get retired soon.
being a lowly engineer is not paying well enough just yet. supposedly that gets better? _________________ (formerly) 1993 k1100rs |

With reimbursement getting whacked all the time and overhead increasing at the same rate- this business isn't what it used to be.

that may be true ... but where i work we don't get roll over vacation so my tendency to not use it actually costs me. but i didn't have a bike before so now i have reason to take more and more time off.
and frankly, with the economy like it is, i'm not gonna rock the boat about pay. _________________ (formerly) 1993 k1100rs |
