Hi, Yodi,
Back in 1992 BMW bored out the K100 16 valve engine. They called the new bike the "K1100". In 1998 BMW stroked the K1100 engine. They called the new bike the "K1200". Remember, BMW has the tools, engineers, knowledge(?), etc. to do such things. Remember, also, the cylinders are coated with Nikasil (or Galnikal, I'm not sure which or if there's much difference) and I'd question if a shop could successfully bore it and, if they did, could they recoat the bores? _________________ Ride Safe,

I think the best question would be "why". _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006

That was my thinking also, hence the-
BUT then if BMW thought that nobody wanted MORE, the K100 wouldn't have become the K1100 then the K1200 and now an engine config change to the K1300. _________________ John & Cathy
