wat is the difference between a k1100LT and a k1100RS. have 93' k1100LT but want to put on a RS fairing/frontend stuff. new to the site and wanted to get some feedback. thx for ur help!!!!!  |

Sell the LT and buy an RS. You'll save yourself time and money.

To start with, the frames are different. I'm sure it could be done though with enough money and effort. Just takes a lot to source all of the parts and make the RS fairing work.

Where are the frames different? The mail faring mount is very different but I dont belive the frames are different.

Well according to both Max and Realoem the frames are different part numbers.
The LT's have 2 different frames, 1 up to 07/93 and the other 07/93 and later.
The RS's use the same frame for all production, but different than the LT.
The one difference that I can see, or think of off hand it the grab handle for putting on the center stand.
For the RS it's part of the molded frame, for the LT it's the rotating handle.

I have converted a K100RT to a K100RS over a long time frame & it was a major hunt for parts. Not reconmended.
I would not atempt. Do as people said. Sell & buy one.
