Hi Guys

Firstly thanks for a wonderfull site.

I have just purchased a 94 1100lt, in reasnable nick for its age and 88000 miles. However when I was riding it home it started to missfire when I tried to increase the throttle, badly spluttering and the occasional backfire, if i pulled the throttle further it just died, ease of the throttle a bit and it went again. This initially started to happen at about 4000rpm but as the engine heated up it got proggresivelly worse until I eventually had to stop, at this point the temp guage was about half way up. when i let it cool down for 10 minutes it seemed semi OK again revving up to 5500rpm before the spluttering started, eventually I had to stop again.

Since getting the bike home I have tried a few diagnostic tests and found error code 1133, also the TPS test proved it needed adjusting, which I have done and according to the test its fine now. The fan test comes up with 3333 but I don`t hear the fan coming on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ATB

could be the tps - could be a bunch of things. If you don't know when the fuel filter was last changed, change it.

I'm with Jim. First change the fuel filter. When you pull the old one out, you should be able to blow through it easily.

Also please add your location and put the year and model of your bike in your signature.

Welcome.

Hi took the tank off today and was presented with the following:

The plugs A,B,C and D were all as you see in pics, what are they and should they all be like this?

In this next pic rhere is yet another seemingly unneeded plug (2) anyone know what it is and should it be connected to anything.

There are also two wires (1) one brown and one red and white the brown one is bare at the end, this can`t be good, anyone help me with these.

Thanks in advance

Andy

The extra plugs in the relay box are for things like alarms etc, wouldnt worry about them too much.
Not too sure about the others though, some might be from when it was converted back from an Ex Plod. Sure someone will come along with more info, If not where in the UK are you?

the brown wires are grounds. Do you not have the schematic? I think there's a link to it in the tech links thread. If not, someone here can email it to you.

Just trying to help.
I have a 93 K1100RS
That #2 white plug looks like the connector for the guages. Are yours working?
When I was at the MOA national in TN, I got a short in my temp guage wire and that whole part of the harness got burned up. It of course tried to take everything with it.
I could have just bought wire and re-did that section, but I got a complete harnes from a wrecked bike pretty cheap and cut in what I needed.

Guage connectors on my LT are green for temp and orange for fuel.

Yes green & orange, my 93 RS as well, but they then run together into a single harness culminating in a white plug which connects to the main harness.
Least on my RS it's that way.

I'd guess #2 is for one of the dash switches - aux lights?

The brown and red/white are most likely for a power socket.

Hi

Had some mysterious problem with f.ex. ABS on my -94LT.
Cleaned the ground connector to chassi ( close to the "2" with arrow on your second picture ) under the tank and as far I'v seen all are gone knock knock.
IMHO seen from the pics of your bike that it can have corrosion in electric.

check your exhaust for cracks..especially where the pipes meet..( wait until cold of course ) and run your hand around the bunched pipes.
