Howdy folks. My name's Tim Inman (hence Tinman) and I'm lucky enough to have found you guys, or maybe you're unlucky enough that I found you guys. I've been a K bike owner for quite a few years, first riding an '88 K75C, now riding a '94 K1100LT for the last seven or so. I live on the Blue Ridge, six miles out of Blowing Rock, North Carolina, and less than a half mile as the crow flies (one and a quarter miles as the Brick flies) from the Blue Ridge Parkway. That's some of my good luck...

the other luck...There is a lot of good info here thanks to you-all, and I appreciate it greatly.
Very Happy

Thanks...it's definitely a good-un!

There is an amazing number of BMW's up here, and quite a few K's, not so many 1100's though.

Hi, Tinman,
I sent you a nice, friendly e-mailed welcome and received an automated reply from you to fill out a form to be added to your recipient list. HELL NO!!! I won't fill out one of those f***ing forms for anyone. It's not a "spam thing"; it's a common courtesy thing.

Hi, Jim,
Yes, I did. Since I will not fill out ANYONE'S form for him/her to receive e-mail from me, the forum was the only way I could contact him. And, in my opinion, he needed to be contacted!

Hi Phil. I was working and only received your email a few moments ago. I authorized you immediately, as I would any other forum member.

I was getting slammed with spam, a lot from crap I really didn't need and really didn't want, to the tune of a couple of hundred a day. (I do a good bit of my business communication and scheduling on line.)

I apologize if that offends you; however, I will not remove my spam/virus blocker. BTW, that is a personal message, unless something rattled my blocker profile. I'll go check.

Well, I had answered his email prior to reading the post. I guess I may have messed up by being polite to him, hehn.

Snarl, bitch, moan, grrrrr. As I said, we're MOSTLY friendly and some are even housebroken! I'm pi**ed off because I'm WRENCHING on my bike instead of RIDING it!

Tim, I can understand your being inundated with spam. Still, I will not request from anyone to be authorized. Thank you for placing me on your list. I sent an e-mail instead of a forum message because of the family questions. Unless something is again personal, I will probably do most communication on the forum.

Oh, and through the forum, WELCOME

Hi, Jim,
That's the problem! I just got back from Hungry Dungee I. I rode the '94 K75A/3 and it now has a worn out front tire. The new tires I ordered came in late yesterday and my friend (with the tire machine) is busy. The '95 K75RT made a wierd noise which - I think - is telling me to replace the monkey nutz. The '95 K75RTP has had instrument problems - in the heat and sun of summer, after a few hours the tach and speedo both stick, the speedo at 60 - 75mph and the tach at 4500 - 5500rpm. So I, today, removed the instruments and shimmed the instruments a slight distance away from the lenses. It is a PITA to R&R the instrument cluster on an RT, especially when you haven't done it for a number of years!

Gee, I wonder what that's like Rolling Eyes

The next few days are supposed to be some of the best of the entire summer and I'm wrenching too Sad and with no flippin' idea when the garage work will end and the riding begin.

OK, Phil...consider this an invitation back to NC for some of Uncle Tinman's World Famous Chili (it's a small world), available in XXX, XX, X and Sissy heats!

You nice guys are invited too!

See, I warned you all about the luck thing in the first post!

Hi, Tim,
I do spaghetti, not chili. However, I do EAT chili! You're on! I'm planning to ride to Hungry Lobsta (New Hampshire) in the fall. The tourists should have cleared out of the Blowing Rock area by then, so the roads shouldn't be too clogged with RV's. Blowing Rock sounds like a good stop on the way to Hungry Lobsta. I'll e-mail (or PM) you a little later for details and a contact number.
