...that's by how much the "tap-it" missed the guts of the yellow brake wire during my audiovox CC install.
But for that the first test ride would have been a success. Brain thought the brakes were on so wouldn't set.
What a great mod. Just wonderful to take pressure off the wrist.

A grateful public THANK YOU to Flying Duck. Without Drake's detailed how-to I would never have attempted this. Don't know how he figured out all the switch settings and wire taps but it is priceless info. I'm just racking up cases of owed beers.

A THANK YOU also to Irome48. I shamelessly pirated his behind-the-seat-tool-compartment mounting location after finding his post during a CC search. Just industrial strength 3M velcroed it in place.

Here's how I did it:

I did not use the "hangmans noose" throttle connection. Since I feared the cable was too close for that, I used the bolt on chain clip since I had a 5mm nut to fasten it to the TB bolt. I took pics of the set up but micro didn't work too well. Will play with editing to see if I can get them clearer.

Fog lights and Head light relay upgrade done at the same time.

Thanks again to Drake and Larry. Much appreciate all the info.

Mike

I had a similar problem when I did my 1st install. Corrected it by soldering all the connections. Now no more issues other than occasional slow pickup on engagement. But it maintains speed just fine.

Try setting the switch in the middle setting. I think it's on/on (or off/off). Makes a big difference in engagement time and holds the speed quite a bit steadier.

Already there. I'm tempted to try the lowHP high sensitivity setting to see how it behaves.

+1 on the low HP setting. Seems a little abrupt at lower speeds (under 55) but I never use the cruise that slow anyway. It snaps right on and really seems to hold speed much better.

I also picked up a later model year LH control with the green toggle for the windscreen. That is really a great way to setup the cruise.

I picked one up also for the '95, but I actually use the green toggle for the windscreen. I literally hated the dash pad switch for the screen.

I only adjust my screen when it is raining real hard. I lower it to help blow the rain off my visor. Otherwise I keep it at the same setting. I want the wind to hit me just above the eyebrows at average speed. Keeps as much air as possible going in the helmet vents but does not buffet my head around or make undue noise.

How much slack do you have in the cable? When I hit "set" it's on it like Johnny on a chicken fried steak.

Almost none, or as little as possible at idle.
Can't say how much slack is there at 4500rpm when I set it though.
I'll keep working with it and let y'all know what I find or come up with.
