1993 K1100LT. I am in Gray, TN at the MOA national.
Old guy came in and is missing the clutch actuation bolt and lock nut!
Bike is leaking oil out of that seal.
I think if we could get a bolt and nut in ther and re-adjust the clutch he could ride home.
ANYONE got one and could get it here? Meet part way?
No one at the rally is any help.
My cell is 414-688-6144

This is solved, well sort of, thanks Dave for the bolt size.
The bike is a real POS in my opinion. Too many duck tape fixes to list, craked header, and he just crashed it into a nine foot deep ditch. Bike really held up to THAT pretty good actually but jeeze he's running on pure luck. He drove from about Lexington, KY to here at the MOA rally actuating the clutch with out the bolt and lock nut. Yes, the arm is resting right on the seal and engagement happens with the lever about 1" from the bar. I know the main seal is leaking too out the weep hole. Nice thick dirt oil build up on the bottom there. Brake fluid is the color of weak coffee. Rear brake the same.
He's headed South to GA for another rally. I'm typing this on my Black Berry so sorry for the crappy job, oh heck I always type crappy.
If anyone that reads this could say a prayer for this man to make it home safe it would be appreciated.
I don't get him at all. He's 70 and seems pretty smart, but this chit needs fixin bad. It might just be his way and I don't understand as some of the issues seem safty related to me.
Thanks every one!
PS. I gotta make it back to Milwaukee tomorrow, about 710 miles, do it in one day. Thanks to all of you here my RS runs like a champ and at an indicated 85 to 90 MPH still got 45 - 47 MPH and just go go goes.
Best to all!

jp,

You are a nice guy for trying to help the helpless.

Guess that some riders (your duct tape rally "friend") go by the ignorance-is-bliss method of bike care.

Have a good & safe trip home.

John

Gallon of gas and a match. Problem solved.

On second thought, half of a gallon of gas. Why waste 45 miles of riding fuel when 22.5 miles worth will do..... Very Happy

There's nothing wrong with the bug motoheap, as long as cosmetics and mechanicals don't matter to you.... Wink

When you sell it on CL I'll be happy to help you with the description. Twisted Evil We'll just list it as "not ridden by OTG."
