Duh, I meant to say helmet speakers, for mp3 and gps. I want some that velcro in to the helmet with a disconnect at the helmet and a volume control. Most of the ones I looked at on the internets get bad reviews. _________________ Jim

Well it also depends on what helmet you are using.
I am using the Chatterbox Multi-Sport+ for all of my helmets. They happen to be by HJC as well as the Chatterbox is aslo by HJC.
The speakers are attatched with velcro inside the "speaker pocket".
The volume control is at the intercom unit.
I have my MP3 and Garmin GPS wired to my "Mix-It-2" for combining inputs then the "mix-it" output goes to my Chatterbox audio in.
My cell phone connects by Blue-Tooth to the GPS so I can monitor phone activity while riding.
Some day I may look for something different as the Multi-Sport + is getting old and it is old technology. I have 3 units and only 1 works 100%. Granted I only need 1 when I ride but still........
Maybe autocom or something. I will probably stay wired as I don't think you can send the MP3 music by BT. _________________ Ride safe.

Thanks for the ideas. I think I'm going to order Tork X2s unless someone tries to stop me by tomorrow. I'm not sure what J O's rig can do but all I really want is speakers. It looks like virtual reality is possible on his helmet.

I've been using the ER6 isolators with my Ipod, Fm radio, and autocomm.
http://www.etymotic.com/ephp/er6i.aspx
The ER6's seem to be replaced by the ER6i, which number one son has been using.
A little pricy but serve as ear plugs as well. I can pretty much set the volume before getting on the bike and then leave it alone. _________________ Mike Currin

Tork X2s arrived today. They werre easy to install with just a plug sticking out of the helmet padding. the cord has a volume control. They sound OK in my office on my ancient sansa mp3 player, better with my Garmin nuvi 750 with media player. I will ride tomorrow and report if the sound quality is good enough for riding. Got to be better than the speakers. _________________ Jim

JCV MArshmallow ear buds. $17/pair at Wal-Mart. Good sound and also block out ambient noise. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

I just can't stand to have anything in my ear. When I wear ear protection at work it's always over the ear.
Road with the torks yesterday and was pretty satisfied but only after trying them with my wife's newer player. It seems my old clunker wasn't making good contact at the plug to get full sound. Was a sort of incomplete test though because she had no Hendrix on her player. I like Dave Matthews but... _________________ Jim

we have used several helmet speakers... the best results have been when we can get the speakers as close to the ear as possible and directly lined up with the ear canals...
on the air blasting the helmet r s motobrick... we can hear the intercom perfectly up to 80mph... and thats even with foam ear plugs to attenuate the road noise...

Finally got everything set today. My Garmin nuvi 750 with on board music player in my headphones. If you set a route, "Judy" interrupts the music to tell me when to turn.
The Torks: enough volume at any speed.
The K11: enough speed at any volume.
It's all good. _________________ Jim

You know you can turn off that option, right? First thing I do on every GPS I own.
Nice item though......I'm jealous! _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006
