HELLO K11 OWNERS. JUST PURCHASED A CLEAN 97 K1100LT WITH ONLY 19000 KM ON HER. THIS IS MY FIRST GERMAN BIKE,BUT AFTER 500KM I THINK I WILL KEEP IT! THE ONLY ISSUE AT THIS TIME IS THE ENGINE SEEMS TO STRAIN AT 5500 RPMS,NOT BEING ABLE TO PULL TO 8500 AS INDICATED. NOT A REAL BIGGY, BUT IT WOULD BE NICE. NOTE I HAVE NOT CHECKED THE PLUGS OR FUEL FILTER YET. THANKS FOR ANY HELP. _________________ KBRICK |

Pictures and year and make would be a big help.
As for me my Injecters were a little cloged so fuel Injecter cleaner in the take helped alot. But change all of your fluids. engine oil, trans lube, final drive lube and anti-freeze.. Just so you have a starting place.
The rest of the groupe will have alot more input.
And welcome to the K11og _________________ In the words of the stones

I'd guess fuel filter.
With those miles it might have sat for a while. It might also be a good idea to empty/clean out the tank. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Techron F.I. cleaner for a couple of tanks of fuel to help the injectors. Preferably before you change the oil, as it will dirty the oil.
Check and clean the air filter as well.

At those miles (kms) I wouldn't bother checking the air filter. Unless there's a mouse nest in there (which HAS happened to stored K bikes) then the air filter should be fine. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Hi, Jim,
If it will only turn 8500, there may be something wrong. Isn't the red line on the K1100 engines 8900rpm?
