there is a 1996 rs sitting in a garage in iowa ready to roll...
ted could fly into waterloo iowa and mickis mom could pick him up and he could ride with underscore down to the hungry mother...
then upon return mickis mom could take him back to the waterloo airport for the flight home...
the fluids and brake pards are supposed to be new and the rubber looks good...
the offer offer stands... fly n ride n fly... its ready to roll... and theres a mayer seat in a box just sitting there that ted could slap on too...

I believe if you have a rented cabin you do not have to pay for parking, I think that's for for day use folks only.
Anyonoe else agree with that? _________________ Steve

Scott - you shouldn't have to pay for parking. Tell them you are staying at the Chestnut. (I'm fairly certain that's the cabin we have. I'll double check and let you know). _________________ Jim

Hi, All,
I got a haircut today. My barber is across the border. Apropos of nothing whatsoever, a couple of you ceegar smokers (Ted, for one) will have the opportunity to smoke a GOOD ceegar at HMII.

Hi, All,
I left home today, first to visit my daughter, then for the Blitz to Branson, then to visit friends in TN and NC, then to see more (so far, just internet) friends at Hungry Mother II. Remember, don't throw rocks at a K75RT, especially if you want any ceegars.

Scott - I'll send a PM to attendees with a list of the phone #'s I currently have.

All right guys (and Gal), the time is approaching. Less than two weeks until HMII. I'm way stoked, the bike is in the best shape ever since I've owned it. (Let that not be a curse!)
A few suggestions, ideas if you will. First off, FOOD. Last year was a bit weak on the culinary choices (althought the local Mexican and Italian places were not bad.), and I take full responsibility for being too neutral on the Pizza vs. State Park awesome sounding menu, if a bit pricey. I say this year we definitely plan on a big meal at the park restaurant Saturday night. We're within stumbling distance from the cabin and not on any public roads, as long as no one goes off a hill side on the way home.
Second request, we only have one day of real mountain twisty riding, Saturday, I'd like to get out relatively early that morning and hit it hard, stop for a big lunch, hopefully VA mountain barbeque, and then an afternoon of more twisties before retiring for a proper dinner (as mentioned above).
That's it on my two requests. I'm going to super slab up there on Friday. Last year I took the scenic route via 58 all the way from the beach. It took 9 hours to go 450 miles and I was whooped by the time I got there. This year I'm going 64 all the way to 81 all the way to Marion, appx. transit time should be more like 6 hours.
Then I'll be heading out Sunday morning, unless y'all are up for a big breakfast that AM, in which case I'll gladly hang around for a few.
What sayeth ye, Hungry Mothers? _________________ Steve

Well it is looking more and more like I will be able to make it. Hopefully there is room on a couch or the floor. Let me know how much I owe and I look forward to meeting everyone.
Jim, I'll e-mail you to see where we can meet up around 81 and 66 to ride out from. _________________ Rich

Wow, I just got back from a ride on Google Earth of the area up there, my head is still spinning. It looks like if we go up 16 (like we did last year) and then catch that ridge road (42) south, there are some awesome routes back down the other side, 91 looks good, 80 (Hayters Gap) looks unreal, that will take us back down toward Tazewell and the valley for lunch, then back up 16 and where ever else, too many roads, too many curves, this flatlander is in Heaven!
Can't wait! _________________ Steve

Steve, y'all know that area far better than I. I'll trust you for the routes. I'm planning to be there mid-day Friday, if I can get out of Florida early enough wednesday.
Of course all this is flexible, after all it's VACATION, right?? _________________ Ride safe.

UH, just one little detail - there's no stove/cookstove/range/cooking appliance in the cabin... "Chestnut (handicapped accessible cabin): This handicapped accessible cabin sleeps eight people in four bedrooms. Each bedroom has two single beds and a four-drawer chest. Linens are provided. It has a sitting room with wet bar for light snacks, a microwave oven and a refrigerator. Central heating-AC. There are two common bathrooms with handicapped facilities, a deck and an outdoor grill."
Dominic thought this cabin would be more suitable - sleeps 8. The cabins with kitchens sleep six - and only have one head. The only other option would be to find out if other adjacent cabins are available and rent two - as we did last year. Except we'd probably want 12 people to show up for that - so far we only have nine - and it's probably too late to switch cabins.
Anyway, isn't that a lot of work for a weekend off? Aren't you coming to HMSP from some other event?

Ouch, but it makes sense.
As for the other, it would have been no problem.
Ok then, we have what we need to make coffee. I'll get the fixin's.
Oh well, there's always 2010.
HEY!!! "Outdoor grill"!!!!
SWEET!!!!
How about we grill some steaks one night, and microwave some taters?
