It's the one thing that I truly don't like about this bike. It looks like it was ripped off a 1985 Ford Escort or something. Very automotive, very un-bike-like. _________________ 1993 K1100RS

There are many aftermarket light units available that could easilly be let into a GRP panel that replaces your existing headlamp.
In the UK they mus be "E" marked, which is a pity as there are some excellent non approved units.
I am "Frenching" a pair of 4" round headlamps into the Duke 916 fairing that's being modified to fit my Race Rep conversion.
Do I remember that there is / was some nonsense that in the US you can't / couldn't have round headlamps?

TJ - most bikes have round headlamps or some variation of round - even here in the US. _________________ Jim

When I bought my K1100RS, my wife said the headlight is the only thing that dates the bike. I agree. _________________ 2000 R1100RT

Not only the headlight, but the fairing around the headlight. _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006

Maybe you could find an old Sprint fairing like this guy's, spotted at the '07 MOA Nat. The dual headlight config. is pretty cool.

I missed that one at West Bend. Pretty weird. So's the fairing on the GS behind it.

Owned.
Especially considering the cost/labor involved. _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006

One of the safety issues I have with motorcycles with 2 headlamps is the in the dark it's hard to tell if the two oncomming lights is a motorcycle 1 block away or a car 3 blocks away.
We had a local rider almost do just that.
Was backing out of his driveway(in his car) and looked at what was coming down the road, saw 2 headlights real close together.
He look closer and decided they were moving pretty quick so he waited, and sure enough it was a motorcycle with a double headlamp, not a car further down the road. _________________ Ride safe.
