I wrote last week re: an intermittant starter on my 93 K11RS. Thanks for all the good posts. I am convinced that it is time for a routine 'dusting' of the starter internals.

I got the battery out, plus assorted trays etc and loosened the starter...it indeed wiggles, but I had no success in coaxing that bugger out.
Any hints?

PS engine was totally cool when I did the operation...should it be warm instead to take advantage of expansion?

Hope you have it out by now. If you dismantle it make a note of which end goes where on the body. If you reverse them the starter will crank in reverse. Don't ask how I know that.
