I've gotta pull the wheels to install OTG's old rubber when it gets here. Due to a small fire on top of rear caliper last summer which deposited melted plastic on the rear wheel, the paint on the rear wheel took a beating. Any suggestions. Is powder coating the way to go or just a can of Krylon. Maybe a body and paint guy could put a nice finish on them?
As for color I've thought of these ideas:
1. Some shade of gold. (think red Cadillac with gold wheels and trim)
2. OEM silver
3. Darker shade of gray (Think brake dust camo!)
4. OTG (final drive) black
5. Chrome?
I think it will be silver but what do you guys and gal think. Hi, Shogs. _________________ Scott Hespelt, '94 K11LT

When it's time to paint mine I'm looking at gold wheels and a two tone scheme of Ironman burgundy and gold.

Go with flat or gloss black imo.
Looks the best and very easy to maintain and clean.

Powder coat is best - but if you're good with a rattle can, the wheel coating might not be a bad way to go. _________________ Jim

Thanks Mike, that might be for me. Checking on it now! Wonder if I should get the clear to go over the the graphite or silver?
On edit, I ordered 2 cans of silver and no clear coat. It's supposed to be a gloss silver. Yea, I chickened out and went with the stock theme but I kinda like the look of the silver wheels.

I finished with the painting and the silver looks pretty good. It's metallic and a little brighter than OEM. And it looks better than looking at black melted plastic on the rear wheel. _________________ Scott Hespelt, '94 K11LT
