When I'm moving, the TomTom Rider only gives me a VERY limited riding menu. I figured out how to outsmart it and get full menus while riding. I'm going to wire a normally closed micro relay to the turn signal cancel switch. That way, when I hit the turn signal cancel it cuts power to the TOMTOM and it thinks I"m in a car. Once you're in the full menu it stays there so I just have to hold the turn signal cancel for a second and tap the screen to get the full menu. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

I know you're not writing a thesis, but is that a word? _________________ Scott Hespelt, '94 K11LT

I had to read the whole thing to figure it out - fixed...
Then I'm wondering, wouldn't it just be easier to get a Garmin to begin with? I haven't had to do anything to do the Garmin - it just works... _________________ Jim

It was micro relay - Jim fixed it.
I like the way I have the TomTom set up - unlimited tracks being recorded automatically in GPX format - uploads right to Google Earth and I can synch up my pics with the track.
I looked at all the Garmins when I decided to replace my old handheld Magellan. None of them met my tracking needs.
I also have the K1100 Rider's Manual, a bunch of diagnostic pages for the Moronic and other FI stuff loaded into a miniweb that the TomTom doc reader can access.
I also loaded a bunch of ebooks on it to read in my tent at night.
Not to mention my custom K1100 icons.
My only remaining frustration was the safety limited menus - now that's resolved. _________________ 93 LT (x2)
