Just to say "Hi everyone".
I am in West Londonh and have been reading these forums for quite a while now---a hive of information indeed on the, slightly long in the tooth but wonderfull K1100RS. Mine is a 1995 version and has had a few glitches in as many years. More recently it just cut out for no apparent reason, embarassing on the overtakes! However collating forum opinions on similar problems I eventually got it sorted and it felt like a bike reborn Razz .
Hope to be able to put my two pennies worth in sometime. Take it easy.

Welcome, we have a wealth of information, and opinions, here.

We have many riders from across the pond and other points outside the states.

We do like pictures, show us your steed.

Merry Christmas to all. Very Happy

hello aries...

i think the mirrors from an early 80s k car... the dodge aries... or the plymouth reliant... would be absolutely fabulous on a motobrick...

Greetings all
Thanks for your replies. I will endevour to post some piccys up of the machinery, but having just grown accustomed to the ribbon typewriter, it may be a while!!
The K1100 has 92,000 on the clock. Had 16.000 miles when purchased 5 years ago, after my K100 broke a valve spring, dropping the valve and ruined the Nikasil lining!!

Aries, welcome to the forum. What was the problem with your bike cuttting out?

Hi Geoff
Cant give a definative answer to why the bike faltered and cut out. However after much poking and wire checks etc, all to no avail. I eventually changed the fuel pressure regulator and the coolant temperature sensor on the cylinder head. Also its well worth checking for leaks around the intake maniflods as these, as Im sure your aware, can bugger up the fuel mixture which causes confusion to the computer!!
One of my clamps was slightly loose, but dont attribute the cutting out to that, but who knows??

Thanks for the update. I always try to learn from these situations.

The next time you working on your bike be sure to exhaust manifold bolts. They can loosen over time. I check mine during an oil change when I have the lower fairing removed.

Blimey! I love Brit-speak! Very Happy

Although it does make me feel inept:

Klinker with English language = Klinker on Nicky Hayden's Honda. Embarassed

Your average Brit bloke with English = Nicky Hayden on Nicky Hayden's MotoGP machine. Twisted Evil
