Does anyone know which, if any, of other BMW bikes had steel tanks that would use a magnetic bag?
I have one(have had for a while now), logo'd for BMW, has side straps to the bottom of the tank, but also has a load of magnets in the bottom of the base.
It won't fit the K series, it's too wide at the forward end and gets in the way of the handle bars when turning.
I'm going to sell it, but didn't know what bikes it might fit.
Pics to come later. _________________ Ride safe.

I know for sure it will work on all the airheads but I don't know about other Beemers/

I've got a 'R"and a 'K' and I know I can't use a magnetic tank bag on either of them. Really a pain when looking for a good bag. _________________ 1995 K1100RS

The only bikes that I am sure have steel tanks are the older airhead boxers.
I had a Multivario for my '78 R100/7. When I came home from riding I would often slap it on to the side of the 'fridge to store it. Stuck like hell. Just had to remember to never put any cassette or vhs tapes in it.

Hi, Scott,
It looks like the tank bag Harriet bought in 1984 when she went to Munich to pick up my (as of then, her) R100RS. I used it for years and gave it away with the last airhead I sold. It was magnetic as well as having the straps.
