I put a wrap of black electrical tape around the cap just for that purpose.

Not to mention that fact that I don't drink Cola's if I can at all avoid them.

I had a long day once. (Long story.) By the time I ended up at B&B in nowhere New Brunswick, I was pooped. I unapcked and scattered my stuff all over the room. Being tired, I grabbed the wrong bottle, took off the cap and started to take a swig. Shocked I didn't swallow any or even get much in my mouth but it took over an hour to get the taste out of my mouth.

I now put electrical tape around the cap so I don't make the same mistake agin. Rolling Eyes

Hi, OTG,
BMW's literature has said that up to 1 litre per 1000km is "normal" oil consumption. This works out to about one quart per 600 miles. I think that's a bit much, but I'm not BMW. My '96 K1100LT (sold at 126k miles) used a quart every 3k to 4k miles from the day I bought it, and it didn't matter if I used Yamaha 20w40 (in it when I bought it), Castrol 20w50 or Mobil 1 15w50 synthetic. My '95 K1100LT (hit deer at about 28k miles) used no oil at all. I used an SG rated oil I found in Mexico (at the Soriana chain of stores) until 20k, then Mobil 1 15w50 until its demise.

I make Biodiesel and used to have a process at home, couple of years ago I was making diesel in the summer, sharing a cold one with a friend...... Cool

I had a third (identical) glass to take a sample of the diesel for clarity that I put down next to his beer by mistake....... Embarassed

Guess which glass he drank from......A good gulp too Shocked Mad

(BTW the engine wasn't designed for fully synth). Similarly, I wouldnt put semi synth in the Norton for the same reason

Tim, I don't understand this statement. Are you saying an engine has to be specifically designed to run synthetic oil?

On a related note, I found out that "semi-synthetic" is the biggest scam going. It could be like .01% synthetic and they can call it "semi-synth".

It's either synthetic or it's not.

I like that idea. Very Happy

Hi, Palle,
Castrol TWS 10w60 may be readily available in Denmark. Here in the USA, it is available from only one source - BMW car dealers. Castrol does not import it into the USA (or make it here) and the only importer is BMW for use in the M3 and M5 cars.

So it is posible to try it out.If it works, then contact castrol and get
them started with the import. The bmw dealers in DK use it both
in k and r machines.
