Hi, I have a 1994 K1100RS, having had a K100 before I miss the throttle screw!
I have a cruise assist clip that makes it better, but I'm riding from home (United Kingdom) through France, Spain and into Italy.
I may never play the piano again!
Can anyone give me the location for the screw hole and the thread size, I can get it drilled and threaded here, in fact most bits are in the workshop |

On my LT it is on the top of the switch cluster just behind the starter/kill switch, not sure of the thread size.

Thanks for quick reply!
What I need is an EXACT location so I can drill in the right place, if I buy a screw I can match a tap at a local tool store. _________________ AndrewD

I can take some photos with measurements for you tomorrow, will have a look at the thread too, guess it will be metric fine one.

Hi Andrew, I had a look at the throttle screw and it might not be as simple as just drilling a hole, the screw fitted to mine has a shoulder with an O ring in it and the hole is shouldered to match, you would have to be VERY accurate with the drilling to make sure that water would not get inside the throttle housing.
The thread is also very fine and i think you might struggle to get a tap to suit.
You might me better looking on ebay or asking Motoworks if they have a secondhand unit that you can just replace yours with.

They chose a very odd photo for that listing.
I used a similar lock on my Concours and loved it. _________________ 1993 K1100RS

I used to have one on my 95 K11, boy did I miss it as the 97 doesn't have one either. The answer came from this forum. I now have two concentric 3.5mm thick O rings fitted between the handlebar grip & the switch cluster. Holds 80 MPH no problem.

If you order a throttle friction screw from BMW make sure that you get the long one. There are two and the short one won't work on our bikes. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

There was one a little while ago that went for $38 or something like that.
The one I got wasn't listed very well. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Leave it to you to find them. Or Rydor's $100 Ohlins.
I can't seem to get that lucky. Maybe that's because I'm not on it often enough. _________________ Ride safe.

Drake has this bloodhound ability to sniff out deals from Ebay that's downright scary.
He got me a 60$ security, anodized aluminum oil cap for like 6 bucks. _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006
