I gave my K1100LT a much needed washing, and when I was going to ride it a couple days later the battery was dead. The battery is quite old so didn't think to mush of it. Put the charger on it for a couple days, still would'nt go. So maybe I got something wet and that drained the battery, so I blew a fan on the engine for several days, the lights all come on etc but soon as I hit the button don't have enough to turn it over. Maybe its a coincidental that the bat. just decided to die, or did I do something bad by washing it? The battery is the one that was in the bike when I bought it several yrs ago. Any ideas?.

Marlin - very likely a dead battery - if you tried charging it and it wouldn't take a charge - you probably need a new one...

I just was wondering if water could get into someware and drain a battery. I'm sure its time for a new battery. Is it a big deal to replace the battery in a K1100? Looks like a lot more stuff in the way than in my old R100RT. Thanks, Marlin.

Marlin, there shouldn't be too much in the way.
There should just be the motronic controller and then the battery cover.
It does come out easier with the seat off.
