And it feels like it's running better than ever. I took the long way to the cabin for Labor Day. I went for a hundred mile ride tonight. Both times the bike just felt perfect.
I think the only thing that has ever failed on it is the rear clutch rod seal. Even the original fork seals are still good. And the bobbins have some miles left in them. I got it with only 14k so I doubt any major maintenance occurred before I got it. And it's 15 years old. I think that's pretty good.
I know big things can and do start happening later in life.
The guy I met in LA with 219k on his 93 LT (with a frickin huge homemade sidcar) said the only major thing that had ever happened to it was a blown head gasket at 125k.
One thing I like about K bikes is leaving the house for a long multithousand mile ride and not having to worry if the bike will break down. Even the K100RS4V Frankenbike I made was a good solid bike that I trusted. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Just turned 40,000 on my '93 RS- Got it last Fall w/33k on the clock. All short rides, no time for any trips this year- maybe next year for a multi-day excursion.
Started to see a slightly weepy fork seal. Otherwise good to go especially as the weather turns cooler and so do my legs (finally)
Good to hear that your LT is in good shape, FD _________________ John & Cathy

I turned 36,000 last week on mine.
She had 7,000 on her when I got here in the spring of '05 so, like Drake's bike, I know there was no major maint done before then.
Since then have had the fork seals done twice, and spine lube done at 33,000, as well as the annual fluid changes and consumables(tires, brake pads, etc.)
Unlike some others, good or bad, I only have 1 bike, so she gets all my riding attention. _________________ Ride safe.
