Has anyone had any experience with the trike kit on a K1100 LT?

Other than see a couple of voyagers going down the road I don't have any experience with them.

Its not really a trike, the rear wheel of the bike is still there in the middle and provides the traction.

A couple magazine reviews I have read would make me a little scared of them.

It's more money but Hannigan makes a trike kit for the K12 and R bike. http://www.hannigantrikes.com/content/home.html (They also have a ZX-14 sidecar rig that number one son was a passenger in at Deal's gap and declared to be awesome, and a Goldwing quad that the wife and I got to take for a short ride.)

Grinnall makes The Scorpion - it's a backwards trike built on a K1100 engine and drive train:

They also makes trikes but use R bikes for that.

I helped a friend put a Voyager kit on his HD. He has experienced
some breakage on 2 grade 8 5/8" mounting bolts. Not a situation
where he needed to find a trailer to get home, but not a good
thing to have happen when you are out & about either.

Hey JO, what happened to your cigarette...

Thanks for all your input. I don't like the sound of breaking grade 8 bolts. I have never seen any reviews on these things, I'll try to find them also.

I think it was in Motorcycle Consumer News I recently saw some mention of them. I think in a Fred Rau editorial about bad ideas he's heard of.
