Performance-enhancing shop time.

Dropped the K off on sat, should be ready on Wed.

1. Race Tech 95kg spring fork springs install with 12wt oil.
2. Throttle body synch. (last was done 15k ago)
3. Valve adjustment. (last done at 59k miles)
4. Replace gear oil with Mobil one synthetic.
5. Fan switch.

Should be done on Wednesday.

You are going to love those springs. I hope you have Ohlin or similar shock on the rear because the bike is going handle like you can not believe.

*UPDATE*

Got the call tonight....bike is done.

Race Tech Springs dropped in with 15W fork oil!
(I bought the springs a month ago)

Valves checked and were perfect.

TBS done but perfect...no adjustment needed.

Gear oil swapped out with Mobil 1 synthetic.

Fan switch installed.

Spark plugs changed with NGKs. Mechanic said plugs in there were shot to hell, fully carbonized.

Total? 330$

Simply amazing. I am trying a new mechanic due to the old ones son being a condescending asshole and I think I found nirvana. This guy owns the shop and is an ex BMW (certified) mechanic.

He told me on the phone that it runs amazing and has "great torque" for an "older bike".

Man, I can't wait till tomorrow.

Add to the fact in about 2 weeks my brand new Works rear shock should arrive, fully customized to my weight and riding style to the tune of about 450$ shipped...those guys at Works are the salt of the earth, thanks Don Sproule!

o t g... did you get the old parts back... independent certified bmw mechanics are notorious for not doing the work and selling your parts on ebay...

Race Tech Springs: Huge, noticeable upgrade. It actually feels like the bike has.....suspension on the front. Prior to the springs the forks were either almost fully packed or diving upon braking....whatever, I feel like I gained a good 2-3" of travel off the front and I have more confidence diving into turns.

Gear oil swapped out with Mobil 1 synthetic.: Another noticeable upgrade. Very very smooth shifts with solid feeling "clunks" into gear. I didn't experience any, but I have a feeling that my popping out of gear is a thing of the past.

Fan switch installed.: Here's the rub guys...If you are not using a fan switch you are doing it wrong. Previously I would ride like today and the temp would shoot up the just below the red and stay there all day and the bike would bake me between the cracks. For the first time today I flipped on the switch when the sensor was halfway and it didn't budge. Even in traffic. The entire bike was about half as hot as it would have been without it. Fact is by the time the fan kicks on it is too late for the K. A fan switch is a MUST for this bike.

Spark plugs changed with NGKs. Mechanic said plugs in there were shot to hell, fully carbonized. Actually they were not carbonized....they were worn down. The electrode was worn down and the gaps were double what they should have been, a testament to how lean the K runs no doubt.

Verdict? Very happy customer.
