Rode up to Maryland to buy a seat from Rich, ended up hanging out talking bikes most of the afternoon. Although I didn't get the seat, Rich got his Carbtune out and synched the TB's on my bike - what a difference! Sure made a believer out of me.

Rich also brought out his 300 mph electric crotch rocket

Yeah, it's a little too small to ride - but it's fast!

Laughing

I should have taken more pix - Rich has done a lot of cool stuff to his K - and he's built a lot of it himself. He has also done a lot of research on how to keep a bike at peak performance - and trust me, his hard work has paid off. For a bike that was literally a total basket case when he got it with 4,000 miles - it is now a very sweet running LT - and fast. A few turns around the block convinced me. Thanks again, Rich.

Good thing I looked at that picture again - guess I better get a new safety inspection sticker tomorrow!

That's right - he's also the Remus exhaust delivery man. Did your wife find out yet?

Aye, I caved the next day like the little bitch I am.

She knew how much I wanted one though so she let it go.

And I thought you had attached a calendar to your bike. Very Happy

LOL Laughing No, no calendar. I'm one of those "what day is it, and where am I?" riders.

I actually don't mind the whole inspection thing - keeps a bunch of crap cars off the road. Used to get inspections twice a year Shocked Wish we had driver inspections!

Thanks, Johnny. I bought the bike in Scottsdale, AZ - sight unseen - no service records, nada. I think the title was a little sketchy - it had the previous owner's name - not the guy I bought it from... Anyway, I was out in a vast, sparsely populated region of the country - stopped at a sort of run down general store/gas station. A totally geez farmer pulled up in his equally geez "farm use" pick up and started chatting - wanted to know all about the bike - he had never seen anything like it. When we got around to who made it, (he thought it was an American made bike) and I told him it was a BMW - made in Germany - I thought for about a half minute he might pull out a gun and shoot me. Instead he said "well, they couldn'a made a purdier bike". Made me feel good!

Yeah - Rich is a great guy - and he does seem to have fun - enjoys his bike and his toys.
