K11 Friends.
Due the fact my KLT is the the bike shop until now, making some basic maintenace, I'll post one of the last trips that I and Adriana, made to Penedo, a city in the Mountains of Rio de Janeiro.
In the hotel, resting after 500miles.

That swimming pool looks convidative...

But I prefer the heated one, inside the solarium...

I make anything to see a destilary factory...

I'm there... Where's the cachaça??

A nice cooper moonshine...

Adriana is interrested in the aging proccess.

Old palm trees.

Vintage farms. Now good restaurants.

Some Tom Jobim and Sergio Mendes songs in the night.

Ready to go home.

Stopping for a rest.

The happy K-Riders!

Guilherme.

Jo, cachaça is a distilled drink from sugar cane, and is very good!
See more in http://www.american.edu/TED/cachaca.htm
http://www.v-brazil.com/culture/cuisine/cachaca-caipirinha.html
If you want, I can carry a bottle to San Fancisco in next september and give to you as a gift, and show how to make a good caipirinha! Just let me know!
And OTG, Adriana thanks for the words!

Duck.
Thar road trap is called "mata-burro", or donkey-killer, and is very common in rural areas in Brazil.
The local dirt riders uses to pass the mata-burros in high velocity, usually whelling.!
But I'm not in that level of skill to try with my KLT.

Jo.
September 2008.
I'll arrive in San Francisco in 19 of september, and take the Goldwing in 20 of sept. Then, I'll go south to Los Angeles by Highway 1, maybe 22.
Will be super to meet you and your photographer girl!
Let's combine someway to meet up!
I din't have a hotel in SF. Any suggestion? A good and economic hotel?
Thanks a lot!
Guilherme.

Don't know how much time you have but you really should try some of Hwy 1 north of SF - much different than south of SF. Personally I prefer that over the south of SF part.
