I have a 95 K1100LT that has a windshield with the protective coating randomly coming off on the rider side of the windshield. It looks like parts have peeled off and are somewhat foggy, although there are no loose areas. Does anyone know of a product to completely strip this coating off so I can see through the windshield again. The outside of the windshield is fine.

Crest - the toothpaste. It has a very mild abrasive which can often remove fogging. Probably won't bring it back to "like new" but will make it better.

hi Roger - I have the same problem. No Crest in the house, but I do have Maguires PlastiX - or something like that. It's made for removing the haze on plastic headlights - it has a diminishing abrasive that won't harm plastics. I'm going to try it this week - if it works, I'll let you know.

I use PlastX on my LT windscreen and my helmet shields - great product. I use it on the instrument cluster windows as well.

Not sure if it has enough oomph to get rid of fogging but can't hurt to try.

Drake - you're right - it's not PlastX - but I can't find the other can right now to figure out what it is....

I took mine off completely with a high pressure water spray.

Thanks to all for the replies, tried the pressure washer, didn't touch it! Went to the local auto parts store and picked up a container of Mequire's PlastX. It took a little effort but, cleaned off the coating really well.
