Answer: Two K1100LTs. Very Happy

I met up with Mark yesterday and we took a ride up to Big Bear Lake for a nice lunch in the sun.

Nice pics! The video is nice too. Always good to see what the local squids are used to seeing of me... :lol

How have you mounted your camera? I'm not seeing much vibration.

I figured it was a fairing mount. I've used the spare hole near the clutch lever for a RAM mount, but the vibration gets a bit annoying. I hate shooting through the windscreen, though, although it seems to work OK for you. I get a ton of glare when I do it, even with a spanking clean windshield.

I'll have to look into a fairing or frame mount option. I sorta considered mounting one on the engine guards, but I thought it might be too low a view and too subject to rocks.

Thanks for the info!

Who is Mark again?

Drake looks like you are struggling to keep up at times, and more than a few times drifted almost to the double yellow. Razz

Right before the end looks like you hit the turn too fast and over corrected.

Not a criticism, just an observation. I would hate to see video of me riding. Surprised

Thanks for posting the pictures Drake. The day started in the valley with a gloomy cloud cover. At about 6000' we broke out of the clouds and the pictures speak for themselves, Big Bear is at 8000'.

It's fun watching a video of myself, first time I've seen one. I'm surprised how well the camera sees through the dark screen. However I do see a need for some improvement. The only cure for which is more riding............. Laughing Thanks for the compliments.

If any are planning a trip to the LA area send me a message if you want to go for a ride. I live on the north side and is a gateway to some good rides. I work odd hours and have time off during the week sometimes.

Great ride Drake!
Mark

Short answer:

BITE ME! Razz

Long answer:

Speed:

1) When Im riding at speed wiith someone else (we weren't going WFO but were riding at a brisk pace) I'm much more inclined to err on the side of lagging behind than riding up someone's butt. If Mark were to see a deer, hit gravel, get a flat, whatever, both he and I are much better off if I'm not on his ass.

2) It's not a race. I have nothing to prove. We were out for a nice day of riding. And I doubt Mark would have a good ride if every time he looked in his mirrors he saw me climbing up his butt.

Lines:

1) My Canon has a relatively heavy stainnless case with a tripod hole at the very end. This causes it to tilt in the mount when I hit bumps. A lot of the "sloppy" riding you saw was with me going through a turn, watching Mark, watching the road, tweaking the camera with my left hand while steering with my right hand. At less than lethal speeds finding the perfect line isn't that mcuh of an issue to me.

2) I bought a $40 camera on closeout at Circuit City today which should emlimnate this issue.

Yeah it was more of an observation than anything. Plus I love to bust your balls. Surprised
