No. You're the only one.

Just kidding.

FYI: You can sort the Memberlist by location if you're interested.

problem is, 375 of the people on here don't have a name or a location - they're just a handle... Even searching the memberlist won't tell you what you want to know.

There are 6 people showing in Denver - eman308, ken, Ray FitzGerald, Mike M, scameron and Crispy Chicken.

Just looking to see if I can find local riders who may understand that riding a BMW doesn't have to include a $400 per month payment, and working on it yourself can be a source or pride rather than something that only the poor do. LOL

I bought a BMW because I want to ride, not to shine it.

I went on Saturday to a meetup, and the only thing that the people I spoke with knew about a K1100 was that it was an old model?

It is a 1997. I have never owned ANYTHING newer than a 1997 let alone a motorcycle. Doesn't mean that I wouldn't like a newer one.........just don't need one to enjoy riding a motorcycle.

This week we are heading to the Grand Canyon, visit a friend in Phoenix and back in a week. Last week I was caught in a snow squal.....I ride pretty much all the time, and odds are I will have more miles per year than most of these guys with the $15,000 motorcycle.

I just don't have to worry about scratching it..........so that I can try to sell it for $10,000 two years later (pristine shape, always garaged.....LOW miles......

Anyway..........looking for someone fun to ride with.

Hey man welcome to the site. You and I have a lot in common right off the bat. My local BMW club the president was sporting a 2008 GS Adventure. That model was 20,000 dollars off the floor. 20 grand.

Don't get me wrong, I like new stuff......but only when it gets old.

No, I don't have a lot in common with those people at all.

As my wife likes to say, "I think we get along better with poor people".

(The newest thing I own is a 2000 Jeep, but that's because my buddy sold it to me for 2300$.)

Enough of the rant, welcome again, some really good peeps here.

Hear Hear, well said gents. Just because it's old, doesn't mean it can't still perform. After all look at us Laughing

I've looked at new models but this one I can work on. I have come to understand it. It's hot in August but nice and toasty in the cooler months. I live with it and love it because I understand it! If something goes wrong, usually with the help of this site Wink , I can fix it. The newer models are right off to the Stealer's. Evil or Very Mad

I'd never own a bike I couldn't do all the work on.

And I don't like the plastic on the newer bikes. I think the front fairings and headlights look like something from a bad Jap sci-fi moive.

Hey Ken,

I live in Arvada. The Colorado BMW Motorcycle Club meets every Saturday morning in Morison for breakfast at the Red Rocks Grill. Be there at 8:00 for breakfast or 9:00-9:30 when a ride usually breaks out with 1 or more different groups going in 1 or more different directions. All riding levels are welcome. Pretty good bunch of guys, and a few gals. The 19th is the traditional Peak-to-Peak ride ending in Estes Park for lunch. Seems we just ride to eat somewhere.

Hope to see you there sometime.

Milton S.
