I pulled the gearbox out of the scorp ( K1 ) and some "bits" fell out of the clutch housing the friction "disc" actually has three double sided "brake pad" pieces at 120 degrees apart , the bits were pieces of the sheet metal "straps" that attach the pressure plate to the clutch assembly , anyone seen this three pad friction plate before ? most of the pieces have F and S stamped on them . The break-up is from too much wheel spinning and quick getaways I reckon , are their heavy duty clutch kits out their ? any recommendations ?
Regards

I have seen several "petal" style clutch plates designed for cars. They are mainly for high performance use. The standard K1 and any other K bike (brick) type is the full circle plate. I suppose somebody put one of this type in your bike. If the engine is stock or near it, that clutch isn't any benefit, in my opinion. It is supposed to stand up to more abuse, and I guess it may have.
I had the same thing happen to my bike about a year ago. The spring leafs around the perimeter started to break. I replaced the pressure plates. I don't abuse the thing, so it may have just been chance. Didn't notice any change in feel or performance of the clutch.

I'll bet that Scorpion weighs just a tad bit more than a K bike.
So it would make sense to me that the clutch is putting up with more "abuse" and that a high perf clutch plate would be warranted.
