Well, I dropped my bike in the creek and took off the fuel hoses as part of the disassembly. Now, I'm appealing to your generosity to tell me with some detail and photos if available, WHERE THE HELL IS THE PRESSURE REGULATOR? I took the fuel return hose off three months ago and sure should have left that one attached. I know I got it off something lurking in the darkest shadows somewhere above the transmission and behind the ignition coil (so I thought). Clymers shows it in plane sight maybe on a K100 and RealOEM.com of course illustrates it kind of floating in the foreground. My forground is big fuel, airsource, and electrical stuff. Luckily, there's snow on the ground so the urgency is only moderate!

In summary, I've lost my fuel pressure regulator somewhere on my K11RS. Thanks.

under the airbox behind the #3(?) throtle bodies......

the best(only) way to get to it is remove the airbox.

Sounds like I've got my work cut out. This has needed to be done anyway, though, because I have an interesting oil leak that sprays or otherwise distributes oil along the left side of the airbox. Also, Clymers appears to agree with you. Now how DID I disconnect that line so effortlessly? Rhetorical question. Thanks.

I'd say your engine breather tube is split as well it comes from the top of the crankcase near the coils and goes into the airbox and across to an oil seperator in the airbox the top of my engine was covered in oil / dirt from this tube having split .
Good luck

Bill, did that split and oil leak cause burning oil in exhaust?

Hello hotscots
No the leak just caused a build up of crud around the throttle bodies , coils and top of the engine
Regards
Bill

Better than an engine gasket, I'd say.

Thanks

I had the same problem with my K except the symptom was I could not balance the Carbs with my mercury stick..oops that's the "R". I mean the Fuel Injectors for the "K".

Found that the vacuum tube behind the Fuel Injectors were old and had a small crack behind the #3 Fuel Injector. It cost me something like $70 to get this BMW part. Once I did this, balancing the FI was a cinch.
Ran the bike at 4000 to set them perfectly.

Oh by the way, replace your vacuum ports with new rubber caps. Very Happy

Martin

Smile Getting the air box out was a very good thing. I found the pressure regulator AND have a severely cracked breather hose which accounts for my oil leak. Another step toward the upcoming riding season! Thanks.
