I'd like people's input and suggestions on the aeroflow or other windshields for the 1996 K1100 RS.....
one person (with 200,000 miles on two k11's !) already told me to forget about the aeroflow because- due to the bikes heat- you'd roast....he suggested simply rotating the black plastic peice on the stock set up all the way forward.
interesting input.
i figured before i laid out the 300 bucks for the fairing i'd ask the membership for their experience.
Cheers,
Ned Beck

The Laminar Lip is a good, less expensive alternative. I personally use an Aeroflow. In my opinion , theres no better, especially this time of year. During the summer I leave it off, but pop it on for slabbing.

I find that my parabellum shield does the trick and have been very happy with it. It's just enough.
I have pictures but don't exactly know how to put them in my response if someone shows me (hint hint) I would be more than willing to share them with you.[/list] _________________ 1996 K1100 RS SE |

I had the Parabellum on mine a 1996 also but I am taking it off because the lower part of the shield doesn't match the texture of the paint. It has a krinkle finish. I just put mucho denero's in a paint job on the fairing and the rough finish of the Parabellum just don't cut it. I'm going to try it stock for the spring and then probably go with the Aeroflow which is one piece and held on with Velcro dots which are stronger then screws if installed right. The Aeroflow looks better to my eyes. The Parabellum worked fine as far as reduce buffeting with a little help from the Laminar Lip which I put on the top of the Parabellum. I order the recommended Parabellum but found it wasn't quite enough. So a friend of mine had a Lip for cheap so I threw it on and it was the cat's meow even though it was kind of busy looking. My two cents. _________________ "Badges? We don't need no stinking badges"!
