Hi guys,
take it easy on me I'm new here.
I have read an awful lot of the abs/brake stuff posted here, so I know if there's an answer it will be here somewhere, but cannot find my exact problem. The abs + lights reset as they should and both ends seem to lock/not lock/lock as they should, but when I put both brakes on together the red light comes on. It doesn't do it with either on their own individually. There is no feeling of loss of brake or even a diminishing of same, just little rudolph on the dash.
All pads are good if not new (4mm+). Anyone come across it or suggest where I would go to track it. Is it would one think electrical or abs.
Should i go and check the abs for errors.

It is an ex police steed and some of the electrics are missing /suspect, but the brake lights etc work individually ok, work ok together except the extra red light.

Did you try resetting them?

Reset them even tho they are both functioning and do set upon start up??

I apologise If I missed the answer in the sticky, but didn't think of resetting them, as on the GS the lights don't settle if they need a reset.
On the K they are setting ok, i thought.

Hey, everyone, a NEWBY! Time to pile on!!! Not really, Ragls. As I read your plea for help (and if I'm wrong, please let me know), the ABS lights were NOT flashing; the big red light on the dash (the one with the triangle in it) came on. If this is the case, it is not indicative of an ABS problem, but of a brake system or light problem. Were it me, I would first change both the brake light bulb and the tail light bulb. Use European bulbs, not US bulbs. The bases should be silver-colo(u)red, not brass-colo(u)red. This, in itself, may solve the problem. If not, it's time to delve deeper.

Phil Hi, you were correct in your assumption that its not the ABS lights but the triangular light, but only when both pressed together.
As I'm in the UK my bulbs are all european and unless I have been really dense and ASSUMED that there is just one stop/tail lamp (I see from realoem that I have) not two both parts, tail and stop are working, but I do see that it would be worth replacing the bulb cleaning the connections as its a bit hard to see if the tail lamp actually stays on when the brake light is lit. You know what they say "KISS" keep it simple, stupid. I will do just that and go play with my bulbs, thanks for the direction. As I said its an ex Police Bike with the electrics rather hastily removed it appears to me, so electrical does sound favourite. Many thanks, Ragls
