Windscreens
by Ted Verrill
Aeroflow
|
The Aeroflow
doesn't replace the stock windscreen, it actually is mounted on the
bike using 1" diameter 3M super-velcro mounting "dots"
over the front fairing of the bike. The fairing is widely praised
as the best available for a K1100RS, and because of the large size
also acts as a protective cover for the headlamp. The screen is easily
removable in a second or two with no evidence but for the four velcro
mounting "dots" per side of the fairing. The only complaints
I have heard are that the screen is difficult to install, and that
the mounting dots have a limited lifespan. Also, pay particular attention
to the included warning about the screen blowing off of a parked bike
:)
Installation: Moderate- 1 hour.
Need: As with several comfort accessories, the choice of windscreen
is best made after thoroughly testing not only the stock screen but
all available replacements.
Cost: $235

apparently are a good replacement for the stock screen.
Installation: Medium - 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Need: As with several comfort accessories, the choice of windscreen
is best made after thoroughly testing not only the stock screen but
all available replacements.
Cost: $229 - $394, depending on size & options.
