I have a 'new' used 1996 K1100RS SE and am trying to get it set for touring. I am seeking input on mounting PIAA lights
I've just picked up this bike because i've always liked them and because at the moment i don't feel like being an alpha tester for bmw at a price point of 18K northward on the bikes i like. So i need help getting this puppy set up for touring. I'm going to spank it cross country this summer and hope she's all she's cracked up to be!
Regarding PIAAs: I've seen them off the mirrors and under the fairing. Does anyone know of an 'off the shelf' solution or vendor for such mounts. I've searched the web and called around to no avail

I have an BRB lightbar on my RS. Works great.
I bought mine from cyclegadgets.com, but it seems they don't carry RBRs anymore. I did find RBR's info though:

I made my own caliper mounts using $6 worth of aluminum bar stock from the hardware store.

i scored some under mirror brackets... they took months of checking ebay...
im thinking about sending them to indianapolis and having a buddy make some more with both an above mirror mount and below mirror mount for specifically for the catz xlo lights...
im hearing rbr is no longer in the k11 biz but sometimes makes k12 bars and ebays them...
my rbr bar will be available in january... also available in january will be a set of piaa 910s and 959s... those piaas are bright... but i wanted the catz in the beginning... so im gonna do it now...

Let me know when you're ready to sell those undermount ones.
OR, if you find someone to make you over and under ones, keep me posted on that. I'd like an over/under for the left and just an under for the right. The objective would be to use the under ones for some good dirving lights and then use the over on the left for a camera mount for taking movies with my digital camera.
