Hi,
I'm looking for an engine wiring harness/ sub loom for my 1996 K1100rs - non cat. I'm in Ireland so an item that's local would probably suit best, however, if I can't find one locally I'll gladly pay shipping from overseas.
Thanks |

You may or may not know this already but don't buy a harness from a US bike as they all have cats.
Have you tried Motorworks in the UK? _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Thanks. Swiss, US and some EU bikes have cats.
I received a loom from Motorworks yesterday - even though I spent 15 minutes explaining the year of my brick, frame number etc... They still managed to send me the wrong one for the old motronic with ignition amplifier connection - it was "mislabelled" apparently and they don't have the one I want in stock. £15 shipping and another £15 in fees/ import duty and 7 days of my time later....
Got another from Germany the week before, advert said "non cat" - which was incorrect.
I also tried James Sherlock - no joy.
That's why I have resorted to posting here, thanks again for your time. |

Yeah - a bunch there - but being in the States they're very likely CAT - and Costellon is looking for NON-CAT.

Thanks for the replies.
My request was to ask the good people of this website if any one of THEM (YOU) had a spare engine loom that you'd be willing to part with.
I wanted to deal with real people, not sellers, scrappers or shops - specially not fleabay.
I wanted to stay away from paying crazy prices, fees, brokers and import duty - surely that's what a site like this is about - Like minded people with common interests helping eachother out ?
Thanks again for your suggestions - the link for the non cat cable for €49 in Germany is the exact same seller that sent me a cable WITH a cat plug - even though it was advertised as non cat also - another 2 weeks wasted and €70 spent - on an item that is of no use to me.
Perspective. A 1200 gram uncooked chicken, a bag of potatoes, tin of garden peas and a loaf of bread costs €5 at my local market - that is a good dinner for two people - there is truth in jest ....
So, no one in the real world on this website has a replacement non cat engine loom for my 96 K1100RS at a realistic price ? |

Just trying to help. Most people here have US bikes with cats. I am an exception because I brought my K1100LT with me when I moved back from Germany. _________________ To err once is human. To do so repeatedly is incompetence.

There are some guys on here in various countries across the pond.
One of them may at some point see your post and be able to help you.
The overwhelming majority of us would have US spec bikes - with CAT. _________________ Jim

Costellon, may I ask why you want a non-cat loom.... are you replacing a damaged one? or doing a 'cat-ectomy'.... and removing the cat.
There's a little more different about the non-cat loom than just the missing cat plug. There will be extra wires and connectors for the co2 pot and other stuff that was removed when BMW introduced the cat.
If you would be interested in modifying one of your 'cat' looms, I can send you the full wiring diagrams for both cat/non-cat versions and you can decide for yourself. _________________ Ride safe.

I'm much obliged for your time and input, thanks again.
I'm looking for a non-cat loom as i'm a dog person !
Hehe, seriously, I need a meow-less loom to replace my own feline-free unit which is tatty, damaged and thus far has revealed 2 broken wires (no spark).
As I want to keep the bike unmolested and original I thought it best to replace the loom rather than repair it.
I would appreciate it if Mr. Anderson could kindly send me the full diagram for the non cat version I have a few diagrams that i've been working off but they're barely legible.
Thanks again to all, if I came across as unappreciative it was not my intention, quite the contrary _________________ Current bikes:
