Friends,

Since I'm restarting riding after a long break I thought it would be good to practice some parking lot maneuvers.

I found this video very helpful https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qJXO4CZ9S0

6'15" thru 8'15" is what I needed to be reminded of the most.

I found a parking lot and tried it.... For years I've complained about low speed handling of my K bike and blamed Ziggy being "top heavy". I realize now it was my lousy technique.

I'm signed up with the local police department to get an all day training class later this month (they are experimenting by opening the class to civilians). Hoping to learn some more techniques from the pros.

Cheers,

Sanjiv

Here's a good free PDF on riding that's worth a look:

Yeah thanks Sanjiv. I think we can always learn new skills.

My particular concern is being more aware of distracted drivers especially with cellphones and these in dash infotainment systems.

We need something like the TCAS system on aircraft (traffic collision avoidance system) which warns you when you may be in danger of smacking into someone else. I vote for DDAS, Distracted Dweeb Avoidance System. I would also like to have a phaser option with three power settings... Stun, Emasculate and Vaporize With Extreme Prejudice.
