|

Other than the VStream from National Cycle, does anyone have any comments on any of the replacement windshield currently (summer 2018) available in North America?
Cee Bailey seems to be defunct, but there appears to be 7JuRock (currently $120 ++) and Parabellum (currently $180++). Have I missed any?
My old windshield is hazed over. I've been able to improve it some, but riding west on a sunny day after 3PM or so it's difficult to see. I ride looking over the top of the windshield, so on the road it's not so bad - it's the riding through city traffic that makes me wish I could see better.
Thanks for any insight into this. _________________ K1100LT - built December 1994 |

When I lived in Seattle and parallel parked on the street in the city a fair amount I used a smoked windscreen on my LT. The reason was that it made the bike easier to see so that idiots parking cars would be less likely to back over the bike when parking.
Gustafson also makes an LT windscreen but it's a bit spendy:

Have you checked with any bike breakers to see if they have a decent used one? _________________ Ride safe.

I've thought about this, but
the used ones I see on eBay are more than a new aftermarket replacement, and they all say they have some scratches.
I left my email address with beemer boneyard some months ago and never heard back from them.

What height are you looking for? I've got a few spares hanging around. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Wow! Thanks for the offer. It's not so much about the money as it is about the quality of the windshield and experience with the company.
As far as the windshield, standard height is good. I typically ride with it less than halfway up the travel range. If you have one with decent optical clarity, let me know what you want for the shield and shipping.
I think you can PM me through the forum. _________________ K1100LT - built December 1994 |

I looked at their website - not only is it more spendy, but you get to drill your own mounting holes - really!?!?!?
Of course, they do provide a special acrylic bit.... _________________ K1100LT - built December 1994 |

I have V Streams on both K bikes. Much better than OEM.
They were giving K11 members a discount at one time. _________________ Jim

Thanks for this - I feel a little pull in the direction of the V Stream. Any thoughts about the standard height vs the tall one? The height of the stock screen seems about right for me. _________________ K1100LT - built December 1994 |

I recently put the taller one on my bike and love it compared to the stock height. Keeping it all the way down, the wind is a nice steady whisper over my head compared to the buffeting I got from the stock height. _________________ 1996 K1100LT

I bought a screen for an Avon fairing on my airhead. I sent them pictures, but we didn't know the model of the fairing. First one wasn't right. The second one was perfect. The reasoning for drilling your own holes is that sometimes factory drilling is off. I was able to do mine with no issues. They have great customer service. _________________ 1997 K1100LT
