Hello all, currently I am reassembling a 1996 k1100rs that I did not take apart. I have the new rear main seal seated to the proper depth of 0.5mm proud per new BMW specification. Now comes time to reassemble the clutch assembly. I have a clymer manual for reference and have found numerous helpful video resources to assist in reassembly. Unfortunately, one thing that is unclear to me is the identification of the thrust washer/thrust o-ring that is supposed to mate with the spline receptical on the clutch housing. I have narrowed it down to two o-rings. The first option is a soft o ring, flat in cross section with an inside diameter to match the outside diameter of the output spline/shaft on the motor(does not slide over the spline receptical on the clutch housing). The second option is a hard "plastic like" o ring that easily slides OVER the spline receptical on the clutch housing. Could anyone tell me which is which? I will attempt to post a picture of the image in the manual along with the images of the o-rings. (I am limited to what I can do on my browser) Thank you all in advance.

Actually the 'clutch nut o-ring' is part #11 in this picture. BMW part #11 21 1 460 467 (19mm x 4mm rubber.)

The part you referenced #10, is a flat metal "shim/spacer" the thickness and quantity are set at initial factory assembly.

Thank you for the resource. Does that spacer slide over the spline receptical on the clutch housing? Or is it intrensic and non removable.

It is placed on the shaft before the clutch housing is installed on shaft as a spacer between the clutch housing and the output shaft bearing(internal to the intermediate housing).

Sometimes when the clutch housing is pulled, the spacer stays on the shaft next to the bearing.
