Hello all Bricksters;
My name is Todd and I'm a recovering airhead rider.
Helping me do this is a newly acquired 1995 K1100 RS, Morean Green with just under 50,000 Miles (114 to go as I type this.) Third owner. First gent was an older man, family made him sell it because he was getting too old to ride (I guess there is such a thing) He had applied his own custom touches, a throttle lock and custom lettering. Just above the headlight was "You're Goin' Down" in blue and on the front fender was "ZEKE'S WAR BIRD" Zeke's was in white and war bird is in black - military stencil font. Light rubbing compound removed the blue slogan and the white Zeke's. Owner #2 was also an older gent. The weight/height of the bike was the drawback for him, that and the wife did not like riding on it as much as their HD.
And now with the "War Bird" in MY garage, I have to ask... Aside from spline lubrication what do I need to look for on a 50K K-Bike? It was serviced (fluids) at a BMW shop about 2 years ago. It will need tires sometime next season. And I think I have identified any troubling sounds from reading other forum postings. (i.e. box of rocks sounds when pulling away at low rpm). Plus, I would like to put a Givi top case on the back with a backrest for the Mrs. (Happy Wife = Happy Life) Any suggestions? Could a salvaged LT Trunk be mounted? Oh, and one more... It looks like it has com-link wiring on top of the back fender???
Thanks for letting me ramble.

Greetings and Welcome.
Nice looking LT you have there........ not an RS.
The wiring plug you speak of at the rear, is for the rear box mounted radio speakers. _________________ Ride safe.

Thanks for the G&W's from all... An LT... this is starting to make sense now. Was noticing the difference in some pics I was seeing on-line, never added 2+2 = Missing Trunk/different fairing/windshield, etc.
Next question... Where can I find the trunk/backrest/speakers to complete the picture? Nothing found on FleaBay... but the hunt hasn't really started.

Trunks pop up on eBay quite often. You might also try Beemer Boneyard.
Welcome to the crew!
Spline lube, trans and diff lube, oil and filter, air filter, spark plugs, fork oil, valve clearance, and balance throttle bodies. _________________ 2014 R1200RT Water Cooled
