Is there a secret way to get the copper exhaust gaskets to stay in the exhaust port while reinstalling the exhaust? Or am I suppose to delicately balance them on the ends of the exhaust pipes while stuffing them into the exhaust ports real quick? ) _________________ 1994 K1100RS

I think I 'tacked' them up/into the cyl. head with grease...then insert the pipe(s). Grease will just burn away... _________________ 1997 K1100LT-SE

Yeah, on another forum it was suggested to use copper grease but I have some copper antisieze I'm going to use. I have to order some new exhaust flange nuts since two of mine seemed to have walked away. _________________ 1994 K1100RS

I have just used whatever grease I could find. Its just temporary. Don't even remember any smoke. I haven't used anti seize on the copper gaskets, only on the nuts and haven't had any problems. _________________ 93 K1100LT

Thanks for that. The only reason I mentioned the antisieze is because the only other thing I have is regular axle grease and I can just see that lighting off when I start the bike. That's the kind of luck I have. _________________ 1994 K1100RS
