Greetings, new to the group. Just purchased a 1994 BMW K1100RS last week after selling my 96 K bike back in 2001. I forgot how nice they are after adventure touring on a KTM 640 Adventure since then. Looking forward to having a sport touring rig again! Appreciate all the great information about the Kbikes.

Joe,
WELCOME.
Nice RS you picked up (can't decide if Mystic Red or Pearl White is the fastest color - have had both)
Many happy miles.

Greetings all,
Thanks for the warm welcome. Hey BobZ - assuming you mean fish in the Willamette - there must be judging by all the boats out there during certain times of the year. In fact, a few weeks ago I was conoeing upstream from Oregon City in some shallow water and there were lots of little fish swimming about - so that's a good indicator.
For the red brick, it goes in tomorrow for service - level 2, spline lube, clutch, tires, fork seals, heated grips, white hyperlights and power for a gps. After that rather painful service, the bike will be like new and ready for some miles.
I've enjoyed trolling around the K11 site and seeing what folks are doing to their bikes. _________________ Always ride SAFE!!

Welcome Joe,
I'm across the river in West Linn... nice Mystic RS - I had a 93 in that color several years ago. If you're interested let's go for a ride sometime. You can PM me for my phone number or shoot me an email.
Cheers,
John

John - sounds good. The brick went into the shop today - hopefully will be done by the end of the week. It'll be like brand new!! Trying some Michelin Road Pilot 3's on it - pretty darn exciting! Hopefully no major problems.

Those are great tires - I ran the PR2's on my R11RT. I'm trying the new Bridgestone's this time around and the handling is excellent - very neutral. _________________ 2012 R1200RT Midnight Blue

Howdy all -the bike came back from the shop and is like new. Picked up a used gps for it and am ready to do some riding. The one thing I still want is a front fender extension - can't seem to find them. Any suggestions? One of the coolest accessories is the little stock BMW trunk - highly functional and surprisingly good looking. Now I just need some good weather! Weather in Oregon will be generally wet and cold until next June. _________________ Always ride SAFE!!

The Fenda Extenda people show one for the K75/K100 - don't know if it's the same for the 1100 RS or not - I don't even know if they're the same for the LT and RS. Someone here will know.

They've gotten a bit pricey, but they're worth it. _________________ Jim

Thanks Jim
I tried to order one from Twisted Throttle but it was out of stock so I wasn't sure they were still available. Hopefully someone in the group will know.
