Hi Folks,

I have a K75RT with the multi-spoke (aka not 3-spoke) wheels and believe I need to replace the wheel bearings due to a noticeable vibration/shudder from the front end while decelerating and turning. I saw on the Max fiche that the correct bearings for this wheel are the 25x47x12 sealed, at about $24 a piece after shipping. Apparently these are 6005-2RS spec but I have not been able to confirm this.

I have been looking to see if I can find them locally to avoid the cost and waiting time but wanted to make sure that I was ordering and installing the correct thing. The only advice I have gotten so far is to order FAG or SKF and avoid ones made in china (which is too bad as they are easily gotten online at less than $1 each - for a reason I guess Smile)

Anyone know the exact bearing I should be buying, and maybe a good place to buy them?

Ted

Ted - I'm surprised the bearings need replacement this soon.

When you roll the front wheel (with it off the ground) do you hear any crunchy noises in there?

Seems like you should be able to hear or feel something with the front wheel off the ground when you spin the wheel. You tried rocking it top to bottom to check for play?

You got enough air in that front tire???

I don't know which bearing you need. The local bearing shop is American Bearing (formerly Bearing Specialties) on Leslie Avenue in Del Ray.

Ted, there are things I'll buy not OEM but bearings are not one of them.

I think that's worth about two hundredths of a dollar or there abouts.

Ted,

I recently changed the bearings in my K11 front wheel.
I used a good brand, NSK in my case..and I suspect the smaller one is the same size as you'll need.

Cost a fraction of the OEM price, was the best money I'd spent on my K11.
As we all know..BMW dont make bearings and I eriously doubt they are specially selected.

6005-2RS is the correct ones. The brand was SKF as a genuine part from BMW for a K100RS -86, which has a identical wheel as yours I believe.
