Rode from Sydney back to Brisbane last night, 1000klms in 11 hours including stops. Awesome ride, but at the last fuel splash and dash I put the 10% ethaol unleaded in by accident, I suggested they should write the ethanol warning in larger print so tired people would notice it easier.
I only put 10 liters in to fill it up so it's probably only 5% in there, should I panic? Theres still about 10 litres in the tank, perhaps I should just go for another ride and refill again. _________________ K1100RS '97

All we get is 10% ethanol here, my bike seems not to mind a bit. I have read that putting ethanolated gas in a bike not used to it can loosed up a lot of grunge and varnish so you might keep a close eye on the fuel filter. _________________ Ted

OK so I won't panic, will post some pics and story later today. I gotta tell you though the K11 never ceases to amaze me at what a mileater it is and I didn't need a chiropractor at this end. 1000ks down on Friday, 1000ks back yesterday, just awesome. _________________ K1100RS '97

I occasionally forget that the Kwik Star stations here in Iowa only have ethanol mix. So from time to time I get 10% ethanol, that and it's a little cheaper per gallon than non-ethanol gas.
Bike seems to run ok but I think the mileage suffers a little. I don't let the bike set long enough to worry about it deteriorating anything. _________________ Ride safe.

No problem about that. I even rode a K75 with E85 (85% of ethanol) for 10000 km, but it requires some tuning. _________________ I am not a number, I am a free man.

Gday Drikko
Been using the 10% ethanol for yonks, no problem to date. Think it's in the handbook as an acceptable fuel. That's a good effort for a day's ride.
