I went for a ride Saturday and saw a friend. I went to hit the horn, nothing. Hmm. Hit the button a few more times got a weak cough, then a good strong one. I tested it a couple more times before I got to my destination and it worked fine.

Upon leaving I gave it a test and it was lame, then back to normal much faster than before.

Any ideas? Dirty switch?

Dirty switch. Or, could be a loose connection. Most likely the switch. Usually even a squirt of WD40 will get it going again - contact cleaner is probably better.

If you take the button off to spray the switch with contact cleaner (not WD40) then do not he-man the screw when you put it back on. For some reason the horn and turn cancel buttons don't work as well if you over-tighten that screw. Just get it snug.
