Sounds like the connector for the high altitude correction plug.
One wire is live when the engine is running.

Well if I could ever figure out how to post a pic from my phone I could show you. It's a plug that's like 4 wires and the connector is about 1.5-2 inches round. It screws together. One wire get really hot just when I turn the key on. No engine running.

Was thinking K75/100.......you haven't got a high altitude connector. Rolling Eyes
What's the colour on the wires.

Not 100%. Bike is still in sturgis. I know going in one side is a black and a white and I think that's it. And on the inside of the connector is 4 pins. I believe. Pretty sure. Lol.

As it's screwed together it's the connector between the frame harness and the engine harness.
Non of these wires should be live either unless the engine is running,
just a couple of seconds when you turn on the ignition (to run the fuel pump and pressurize the fuel system).

Ohh ok. So it could be getting hot because the fuel pump is jacked? I know the bike won't pre pressurize so that leads me to believe that the pump is done for.

Another possibility that would fit better is the connector for the O2 sensor.
This sensor have a heating element which is activated when the ignition is on,
maybe the wiring or the element is shorted.

Not home, could check tomorrow...when I have acess to my bike and diagrams.

A screwed connector of the size you describe on the left frame side under the seat on a US LT(or even RS for that matter) would be for the O2 sensor.

There is a heater circuit in the sensor, so there would be some current carrying wiring in that short loom.
You can disconnect it temporarily for diagnostic purposes, the bike will run, but it would run rich.

Left side, screws together? O2 sensor. If you follow it you should end up at the exhaust.

Well one end goes to the computer and battery and the other end just goes into the bundle of them all. From what I can find, it seems like part of the fuel injection harness.
