Yes, going on 29yrs now in my own small signshop here in Oz and although the computer has taken over the signage industry, I still do a lot of hand painted brush work on trucks with old school scrolling and pin-striping and gold leaf honour boards for sporting clubs etc, I really enjoy it. _________________ Cheers Grant

Cool.
I apprenticed 3 years before going out on my own.
I hand lettered signs for over 10 years when I ran my own shop.
I have only a few pics of my work left
I took the pics w/ a 35mm film camera and my portfilo photo book was destroyed a few years after I closed up shop.
At the point things switched over to vinyl I lost interest and couldn't compete with vinyl prices as a letterhead.
I went to nursing school and never looked back...
Well, that's not really true...
I stop dead in my tracks when I come across old letterhead work.
I take pictures of old hand letter signs.
I'll turn around and drive back a few miles just to gaze at old signs.
I like 'reading' the faded brush strokes.
These are all the pics I have left.
The last 8 are what I made for my own wedding, but the letters are vinyl.

Hi, my name is Mike. I had a small Honda (black bomber) 30+ years ago and regretfully sold it after just 2 years. Late last summer my wife approved my purchase of another motorcycle. She picked out a '96 K1100LT for me! The first week I had it, I was terrified! It's twice the size of the Honda I had and almost three times the hp, with a much higher center of gravity. Immediately, I enrolled in a biker safety course, and invested in all the appropriate gear, boots, gloves, DOT helmet, etc. I am still shopping for armor. Slowly, the terror has transformed to joy! I LOVE this bike. It's perfect for my daily 52 mile round trip work commute.
I've been looking through these forums for months and officially joined a few weeks ago. Already, I have found many nuggets of wisdom. Thanks!

Nice Husky there Stormtrooper.
and all this time I thought going over to the dark side meant mounting a car tire on your bike.
At least your helmet is D.V. approved. _________________ John & Cathy
