Hello,

I think that you wil find the red & black are live and neutral as one would expect. The other one is for a speed sensor. You dont have to connect that one unless you have a feed. You might find that you can put a BMW DIN plug into the red/black wires and plug into an accessory socket to see if the unit at least works and if it does then go hunting for the speed sensor feed.

Your K1200GT will have a sensor and therefore a feed plug but your older K models in your signature will not so a connection to a switched feed would be in order. You should be able to get a plug from BMW or a breaker to plug into your K1200GT plug?

The later BMWs have a hidden plug near the headstock which you can use to connect to.

Hope that helps

Best regards,

David

Thanks for the info,,,,its a good help,,,,decided to contact GARMIN Customer support UK to repair it or recommend a repairer,,,,what a waste of time, they have told me that they no longer repair or have anything to do with my navigator 111 because its a "old" model and have a look at the new ones,,,£500 just throw it in the bin !!!!!!!!!,,then fork out £800 for a new one,,,i questioned there answer and got another ignorant reply,,,,,wont be buying any more garmins in a hurry !!!!!!!

Looks like Garmin have the same great attitude to their customers the whole world over. Had the same here , standardised on tomtoms now, maybe they'll be better???

Hello Gary,,,managed to find a repairer who seems confident of sorting it out,,,,i have a tomtom rider that i use on a couple of my bikes with no problems at all,but when i bought the 1200gt thought it would be good to fit a navigator,,,hopefully it will all get sorted out soon,,,,
regards Peter.
