Oct 26th, 2010 my eBay, 1995 K1100RS was delivered...

I had been wanting a better bike for two up riding on long trips, but capable of sporty handling in the twisties...
One year later...I think I succeeded... Very Happy

Got to ride it a little before winter...
Over the winter I cleaned it up, tuned it up, replaced normal wear stuff, etc., etc.
Rebuilt the forks...new seals and sonic linear springs...

Replaced the non-working ABS unit with a $100 eBay unit which worked..
Replaced the wires, plugs...

Replaced some plastic and lots of little bits...Max BMW and I became friends...
Once the snow melted...I started getting to know her better...

Mounted some new Michelins, replaced the rear shock with an IKON unit and added a factory rear rack and we were ready for our first summer with the brick...

As of today...we put 4267 miles on this year, mostly two up...not as many miles as a lot of you, but a lot for my wife and me...
And it has been a joy to ride...

I road to work often...

In May we went on a four day trip to Brown County, Indiana...

End of June...we rode to the RA rally in Chippewa Falls, WI...

We had a ball...
Hit the Mindoro Cut and Wildcat Mountain on the way up and back...

A few weeks ago we went on our final big trip of the year...four days in SW Wisconsin riding with friends...lots of curvy roads and the bike felt great...
Fennimore, WI...

Riding to the Slimy Crud Run, Sunday...

And the last night at the Don Q Inn in Dodgeville...

Stopped at a small station on our way to New Glaurus and what pulls in?
Yes, another K bike...weird...

A visit to the New Glaurus Brewery and home...

So it's been a year...a good year.

I am so glad I bought this bike...(although I could have just bought a cherry one for less than I put in this one)...
It has been perfect for my wife and I...comfortable...hard bags...handles well...reliable...and it will cruise all day at 80-85mph...

So thanks for all the information on this forum...it was very useful...
I am sure I'll get a few more rides in before the salt goes down, but I am already looking forward to 2012... Very Happy

Thanks for all the pictures of your trips.

You know that there is still plenty of time to contact Jim and make reservations for HM V. Biggest K11OG get together of the year.

Would really like to see you both at HM. No pressure here, right?

Next May (2012) is HM V.

Really good group of motorcycle folks, fun time, GREAT food.

If ya' got a K bike, it wants to be here to visit a few of its relatives.
