IIRC the last time I did seals on a K I did both the seals and the brass bushings and added gaiters. I've had no issues since.
Other than the gaiters, other parts were OEM.

Have you tried another key? could be yours is worn enough it's not allowing the lock cyl to rotate to the lock position.(from non-use prior to you owning the bike)

I've run e-10 in both my K and my R bikes as long as I intend to ride them regularly.
I'll run at least 2 tanks of non-ethanol, and treat with Stabil before I park them for the winter.

Grunter, do you have MOT inspections there?
I'd have thought that the bike would have failed an inspection if the ABS isn't functioning 100% correctly since it's considered a 'safety component'.

Try and look real close at the printed plate, it's not been unheard of on our older bikes for that plate to warp a tad bit(from sun exposure) and cause the needle to stick.
